Moloko - Catalogue

Best of CD from Moloko. Includes a bonus CD, recorded live at Brixton Academy, London, in 2003. This incredible performance has never been released on CD before!
Release Date: 26 June 2006

The first album 'Do You Like My Tight Sweater' was a benchmark trip-hop classic, released in 1995 the album and band picked up copius amounts of media attention during this period and 'Fun For Me' was the first Top 40 single from this offering. 'I Am Not A Doctor' appeared 3 years later and further consolidated Moloko's unique sound, including the original version of 'Sing It Back' it was to provide the springboard to the bands platinum selling third album 'Things To Make and Do'. Containing the Ibiza anthem 'Sing It Back' and its classic follow up 'Time Is Now' it firmly established Moloko's credentials both at the cutting edge of dance music whilst placing them in the Top 5 across all 3 releases. 2003's Statues was the logical follow on to 'Things To Make and Do', a beautifully crafted 10 track album including the Top 10 single 'Familiar Feeling' and the dance-floor classic 'Forever More'.

The Bonus Disc, recorded live at Brixton Academy in 2003 was the culmination of an 8 month world-wide tour. Moloko's live performances since 2001 have become legendary, and are captured in this disc. The 16 minute version of 'Sing It Back', the sublime 'Time Is Now' plus the deeply delicious 'Forever More', which will forever be the festival favourite. The disc contains 1 hour and 20 minutes of the original 1 hour 45 minute performance and includes all the hit singles. This is an incredible performance from the top of their live tree and has never been released on CD before.

Moloko have been often imitated during their career but no band had quite the self belief as this Sunderland/Wicklow duo. The unique star quality of Roisin Murphy and melodic prowess and musical genius of Mark Brydon have long overshadowed their counterparts that have come and gone. Moloko remain one of the most often quoted and most influential bands of the last 10 years. Catalogue brings together all the chart hits and the finest collection of tracks from the 4 studio albums.
