GARY NUMAN, NEIL TENNANT, VINCE CLARKE, MARTIN GORE, PHIL OAKEY and BERNARD SUMNER will all appear as guests on a forthcoming BBC4 documentary entitled 'Synth Britannia' which will set out to trace the beginnings of the synth revolution of the late seventies and early eighties. TOYAH's THE HUMANS project will release a cover of Nancy Sinatra's 'These Boots Are Made For Walking', featuring ROBERT FRIPP on guitar, as a digital single on September 21st. The band will also release a new edition of their album 'We Are The Humans', including the new track, in October. TEARS FOR FEARS are looking into playing a run of dates in Singapore, Manila and Australia in the early part of next year with tentative plans to play on the US East coast in the summer. BANANARAMA and BONNIE TYLER will both appear on the bill of a special charity show, 'Women of Rock', which is due to take place at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 1st. Other artists on the bill include Mel C, Joss Stone and Jamelia. SALT-N-PEPA, currently in the middle of a series of US shows, are planning UK and European dates for the early part of 2010. MADNESS have added a London show to their annual Christmas tour of the UK and will play at the O2 Arena on September 18th. See GIGS for all the tour dates. THE BEE GEES' Robin and Barry Gibb are said to be reuniting for a series of live shows, their first since the death of their brother and former Bee Gee, Maurice Gibb. The band have said that plans are being made however no details about any shows have yet emerged. DEACON BLUE, MIDGE URE, HUE AND CRY, LLOYD COLE and THE BLUEBELLS are among acts appearing at a series of dates in Scotland under the banner 'Homecoming Live' which will celebrate the Scottish music of the last three decades. EDWYN COLLINS has announced a Scottish tour, plus dates in London and Manchester, to take place in October. See GIGS for all the dates. NEW ORDER's PETER HOOK will publish his account of the extraordinary story of Manchester's Haçienda nightclub on October 5th and will promote the book - 'The Haçienda - How Not To Run A Club' - with a series of signings, Q&A sessions and DJ sets around the country. Hook has also compiled and mixed 'Haçienda – Acid House Classics', a double CD of many of the greatest Haçienda acid classics from artists including A Guy Called Gerald, Fast Eddie, Phuture, Adonis, and New Order themselves. THE HUMAN LEAGUE, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN and HAPPY MONDAYS are all to perform at the forthcoming Dubai Sound City festival which runs in various venues around the city between November 5th and 7th. SINEAD O'CONNOR has teamed up with ADAM AND THE ANTS' MARCO PIRRONI's THE WOLFMEN on the new Wolfmen single 'Jackie, Is It My Birthday?' which is scheduled for release on October 5th. The track is one of a number recorded by the band and produced by The Dandy Warhols' Courtney Taylor-Taylor. SHEENA EASTON's 1980 album 'Take My Time' will be reissued in an expanded edition - featuring four bonus tracks - on October 19th. See NEWS on the website for the full tracklisting. BOOK OF LOVE have announced a reunion show at New York's Highline Ballroom on September 27th to mark the reissue of their Sire Records catalogue. The albums -'Book of Love', 'Lullaby', 'Candy Carol' and 'Lovebubble' - have all been reissued and digitally remastered and feature bonus tracks, rare live recordings and remixes (including a rare Daniel Miller remix of 'I Touch Roses' included on the new edition of their eponymous debut album). MORRISSEY will release an 18-track compilation of key b-sides from his last three studio albums on October 26th. 'Swords' will be released on CD and vinyl and initial quantities of the CD will include a bonus disc containing eight tracks recorded live in Warsaw last year.
