SIMPLE MINDS have contributed to 'Don’t You Forget About Me', a new documentary about the film director John Hughes. The documentary will also feature contributions from Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Mia Sara and Andrew McCarthy among others.

YAZOO, HEAVEN 17, NEW ORDER, TEARS FOR FEARS, GRANDMASTER FLASH, PROPAGANDA, SOFT CELL, THE CURE and VISAGE are among artists featured on a new 3-CD collection of original 12" remixes '12" 80s Electro:pop' which is due for release on August 31st. See NEWS for the full tracklisting!

MICHAEL JACKSON's 'This Is It' film is set to be shown in cinemas around the world from October 30th. The film is drawn from rehearsal and behind the scenes footage from Jackson's planned 'This Is It' tour. Meanwhile JERMAINE JACKSON has announced that the long-awaited tribute concert planned to mark the passing of his brother will take place in Vienna on September 26th. More details are to be released shortly but the show is expected to feature around ten artists covering some of Michael Jackson's biggest hits.

MARI WILSON has lined up a handful of live dates for September including a two-date residency at the prestigious Pizza On The Park. See GIGS for all the dates.

MORRISSEY is to release all his singles from 1988 to 1995, complete with all b-sides, on a 3-CD set on October 12th. On the same date a limited-edition box set of 7" heavyweight vinyl singles will be released. The boxset will feature all Morrissey's single released between 1988 and 1991 with a second set covering 1991 to 1995 scheduled for release on November 2nd.

THE STRANGLERS, RICH KIDS, THE SKIDS and 999 are the first artists to have Peel Sessions released as part of new initiative between EMI and the BBC. The digital EPs will be released on September 14th and the series will continue until the end of the year with releases planned from GANG OF FOUR, THE SPECIALS, ULTRAVOX, THE SELECTER, and DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS. THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS will join The Killers at a special US show at LA's Hollywood Bowl on September 16th.

ADAM AND THE ANTS fans will gather at London's Abbey Bar on November 7th for the Ant Lib Weekender, the annual international Adam and The Ants fan convention. See their website for more details.

BANANARAMA have announced that their new single 'Love Comes' will be released on CD and two 7" picture discs - one featuring Keren, the other Sara - and two aditional download tracks also be available. You can preorder the single on all five formats for just £4.99 at Townsend Records . 'Love Comes' is scheduled for a September 7th release, followed by the new album 'Viva' on September 14th.

KRAFTWERK will release eight of their classic catalogue albums in remastered editions on October 5th. The albums will be available as an eight-album boxset or as individual albums on CD and vinyl. See NEWS for more details.

ULTRAVOX have announced German tour dates to take place in April next year. The recently reunited band have announced six shows so far... see GIGS for all the dates.

MADONNA has apparently announced the tracklisting for her forthcoming greatest hits collection 'Celebration' - which will also feature two new tracks 'Celebration' and 'Revolver' - which will be available as a standard single CD as well as a 2-CD edition. JOHNNY MARR - the former guitarist with THE SMITHS - will make a cameo appearance in the film adaptation of Kevin Sampson's 1999 novel 'Powder'. Meanwhile Marr is continuing to work with The Cribs who have a handful of UK dates scheduled for September.

MICHAEL JACKSON's catalogue is being remixed by a selection of contemporary remixers and producers for a series of five downloadable remix EPs. The series of mixes entitled 'The Remix Suite' will be released every fortnight from this week, see NEWS for more details.

DEPECHE MODE have added four Scandanavian shows to their 2010 schedule with the announcement of three Swedish concerts and one Finnish concert in January and February. See GIGS for all the dates. The band have also announced that 'Fragile Tension' is to be the third single taken from their current 'Sounds Of The Universe' album...

NEW ORDER's BERNARD SUMNER and his new band Bad Lieutenant are previewing a track from their forthcoming 'Never Cry Another Tear' album on their MySpace page. The track 'Sink Or Swim' is the first public airing of material from the band who have collaborated with Blur's Alex James for the album and whose live line-up is expected to include former New Order drummer STEPHEN MORRIS. A-HA have announced shows in Germany and Poland as part of their forthcoming 'Foot Of The Mountain' tour. The new shows - in Oberhausen, Hannover, Efurt and Lodz - will all take place in November, see GIGS for the dates. A-Ha have also announced a second UK single, a new recording of the album's 'Nothing Is Keeping You Here', which will be released on September 21st. The band have also announced a Belgian show at Brussels' Ancienne Belgique on November 11th as well as an appearance at the SWR3 New Pop Festival on September 19 in Baden-Baden, Germany.

TINA TURNER will release a live DVD/CD set entitled 'Tina Live' on September 28th. The release was filmed in Arnhem in March this year on the European leg of Tina's 50th anniversary tour. See NEWS for the full tracklisting.

BANANARAMA have also announced the tracklisting for their forthcoming studio album 'Viva' which is scheduled for release on September 14th. The album features seven new tracks and three covers. See NEWS for the full album tracklisting.

CLIMIE FISHER have reissued their 'Everything' and 'Coming In For The Kill' albums, both in expanded editions featuring all the single b-sides as bonus tracks. See NEWS for the tracklisting of both albums.
