ABC's MARTIN FRY, SPANDAU BALLET's TONY HADLEY and GO WEST's PETER COX will host BFBS Radio's forthcoming Rewind Day which will feature each artist playing DJ for two hours each to play a combination of eighties tunes, classic influences and current favourites. ERASURE frontman VINCE CLARKE has received the Outstanding Song Collection award at this week's Ivor Novello awards ceremony in London. Erasure meanwhile have annoucned that they will release a remastered edition of their classic 1988 album 'The Innocents' later this year. PET SHOP BOYS are to play a one-off free gig at London's Matter in July, the show will also see a set from Little Boots and DJ sets from Hot Chip and Tom Middleton. See NEWS for more details. SPANDAU BALLET are making a full length documentary film which will cover the band's entire career according to songwriter GARY KEMP who has said 'It will be a feature-length documentary with us talking about everything that's happened over the years. We won't shy away from tackling the bad times'... FIVE STAR have announced that they will be reuniting their original five-piece line-up for a tour later this year. Dates are expected to be announced shortly. HEAVEN 17 are no longer appearing on the bill of the forthcoming Regeneration Tour in the USA, citing 'financial considerations' as the reason. The tour will proceed with a core billing of ABC, BERLIN, WANG CHUNG and CUTTING CREW with other acts potentially appearing at different shows. See GIGS for all the dates. THE UNDERTONES are to reissue their 'Hypnotised' album on June 8th in a deluxe edition featuring the original album and a further seven bonus tracks. THE POINTER SISTERS will reissue their albums 'Energy', 'Priority' and 'Black & White' on July 7th in remastered editions each featuring a selection of bonus tracks including remixes and cover versions. MORRISSEY has rescheduled the two UK dates he was forced to postpone due to illness last week and will now play the shows, in London and Birmingham, in October. Morrissey has also announced four new dates to take place at the same time with shows in Swindon, Bournemouth, Leeds and Sheffield now onsale. See GIGS for all the upcoming dates. REM are already working on their follow-up to last year's 'Accelerate' album with a reported fourteen songs already at the demo stage with recording, with producer Jacknife Lee, scheduled for later this year. COCTEAU TWINS mainman ROBIN GUTHRIE will release a new four-track EP entitled 'Angel Falls' on June 29th, and a full album, 'Carousel' on September 1st.
MICHAEL JACKSON has delayed the start of his 'This Is It' comeback shows at London's O2 Arena with the announcement that the first four shows are to be postponed due to 'production problems'. The opening show has now been pushed back from July 8 to July 13 and the following three shows will now take place in March 2010.
