  December 2004: Music Week, the UK's definitive music industry news service has a front page article this week about Kate's KBC album announcement: "One of the longest waits for a follow-up will finally be over next year, when the first Kate Bush album in more than a decade appears. The EMI artist last week confirmed that she is set to deliver her first new studio set since 1993's The Red Shoes in 2005, having been working on new material over the past few years. Bush announced that the long wait was nearly over in a letter last week to members of her fan club. EMI has since confirmed to Music Week a new album is definitely on its way. Besides collaborating with the late Michael Kamen, Bush has also been working with bassist Mick Karn, drummer Stuart Elliott and percussionist Peter Erskine. Although she has largely been out of the limelight as she concentrated on bringing up her son Bertie, Bush was at the Ivor Novello Awards in 2002 to collect the outstanding contribution to British music award.

TEARS FOR FEARS have announced UK release plans for their new album 'Everybody Loves A Happy Ending'. The album will be released on February 28th and will be preceded by a single 'Closest Thing To Heaven' on February 21st. The band have also announced six UK tour dates for April and May.

BLONDIE
have announced a UK tour for November and December 2005. The 24-dates will include a prestigious London show at The Royal Albert Hall on November 23rd.

DURAN DURAN
, who last week announced mammoth US tour in early 2005, will be playing a very special UK hometown show at Birmingham City Football Club on May 28th next year.

DURAN DURAN, THE CURE, DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS, LLOYD COLE & THE COMMOTIONS, MADNESS, FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, THE HUMAN LEAGUE, MADONNA and NEW ORDER are among artists shortlisted for the '100 Greatest Albums' list being compiled by UK TV station Channel 4. A panel of music industry professionals have drawn up a shortlist of 125 records and are now collecting votes from the public to decide the final top ten. THE HOUSE OF LOVE have reformed and will release a new album ‘Days Run Away’ on February 28th, preceded by a single 'Love You Too Much' on Valentines Day. The band will also be touring and have already announced one show, at London's ICA on February 10th.

RICK ASTLEY will appear at next year's Henley Music & Arts festival that will take place between July 6th and 10th. Astley's set will include standards made famous by the likes of Sinatra and Bacharach longside his own material.

KYLIE MINOGUE has added another London date to the UK leg of her ever-expanding 'Showgirl' tour. Kylie will now play a sixth date at London's Earls Court on April 30th.

JIMMY SOMERVILLE will release his new album 'Home Again' in the UK in January next year, preceded by a new single 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'. The releases will be via BMG Germany and were released in some countries in November.

ABC
will play a short Spanish tour in July 2005 with GO WEST, TONY HADLEY and PAUL YOUNG... dates will be announced shortly.

KIRSTY MacCOLL's albums 'Kite' and 'Electric Landlady' will be reissued on February 28th in remastered and expanded formats ('Kite' will feature ten bonus tracks and 'Electric Landlady' a further five). A 4-CD box set 'From Croydon To Cuba - An Anthology', and DVD 'From Croydon To Cuba - The Videos' will also be released on 28 March 2005.

BLONDIE
's classic 'Heart Of Glass' has been covered by socialite turned reality TV star Paris Hilton for inclusion on her forthcoming album which is expected to be released early next year. Hilton has also done a cover of DAVID BOWIE's 'Fame'.

JODY WATLEY has released a limited edition DVD compilation entitled 'Jody Watley The Ultimate Collection' exclusively through her website. The DVD includes her hits 'Still a Thrill', 'Real Love', 'Friends', and 'When a Man Loves A Woman'.

BILLY IDOL will release a single, 'Scream', to radio in the US in January in advance of his new studio album 'Devil's Playground' which is currently scheduled for a March 21st release date in the UK.

Level 42 have just confirmed a show at the Kentish Town on Sunday 13th February.
