THE SMITHS are to be the subject of a new DVD documentary which features extensive contributions from both MIKE JOYCE and ANDY ROURKE. 'Inside The Smiths' will be released on July 16th and also features NEW ORDER's PETER HOOK ande THE BUZZCOCKS' PETE SHELLEY.

KYLIE MINOGUE is reported to be planning a huge celebration in London to mark the twentieth anniversary of the release of her first single, 'Loco-motion'. In the meantime she is said to be working hard to complete her new studio album which it is hoped will be ready for release before Christmas.

KIM WILDE, BELINDA CARLISLE, NICK HEYWARD and IMAGINATION have all been added to the bill of the forthcoming RetroFest festival which is taking place in Scotland in September. See our RETROFEST

THE HUMAN LEAGUE
have announced more shows for the end of the year which will see the band perform their 'Dare' album live for the first time. The band have added shows in Nottingham, Manchester, Stoke on Trent, Wolverhapton, Norwich, Sheffield, Glasgow, Perth and Gateshead and more shows are yet to be announced. See GIGS

SALT N PEPA are to reform for a new ten-part reality TV show on VH-1. The show will follow the original trio of Cheryl James (SALT), Sandra Denton (PEPA) and Dee Dee Roper (SPINDERELLA) as they work towards a special comeback show.

SHAKATAK have lined up some UK shows for July, including an appearance at the Wigan Jazz Festival. See GIGS for all the details.

NEW ORDER
have announced that the band has split following months of speculation and rumour. Talking to BBC 6 Music bassist PETER HOOK explained that the reason for the slit was 'personal'.

PAUL WELLER has recorded a track with Blur's Grahan Coxon for release as a 7" single via EMI's Regal Singles Club in July. The track, 'This Old Town', also features Oasis' Zak Starkey on drums and will be limited to just 1000 copies although a digital download will also be available.

TIFFANY has released a new album 'Just Me', which features her recent single 'Higher', via the Us label 10 Spot. Tiffany will be undertaking a short US tour to support the dates and has also featured in a recent TV documentary 'I Think We're Alone Now' about two extreme Tiffany stalkers... see GIGS
for her upcoming dates.

ELVIS COSTELLO will lend his support to Liverpool venue The New Picket on July 5th when he plays there on July 5th as part of a series of events to raise money to save the venue from closure. ELVIS COSTELLO has also announced a one-off London show at the O2 Arena on September 5th as part of his 60th birthday 'Red Piano Tour'.

PEACE ONE DAY CONCERT

Marc Almond will be performing at a special concert for peace at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on Peace Day, Friday 21st September 2007.
??
A host of star names will perform live and contribute through messages and films. Annie Lennox, Corinne Bailey Rae, James Morrison, Beth Orton and Marc Almond will all perform live and they will be supported by video messages and specially filmed pieces by David Beckham, Jude Law, Lord David Puttnam and others. Marc says "I’m really honoured to have been asked to take part in such a huge event such as Peace One Day. I really hope our performances raise awareness and accomplish having peace for one full day."
