Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue started out as an actress, working on the TV show NEIGHBOURS, whose UK popularity eventuated the young singer taking up with megapop production team Stock, Aitken & Waterman (who also made Rick Astley a success). With that titanic trio behind her, Kylie became the queen of the British pop charts, scoring hit after hit. Like Sheena Easton, she eventually changed her image from girl-next-door to sex-kitten and shortly thereafter became the paramour of INXS vocalist Michael Hutchence. Though Kylie reigned supreme in the UK, establishing a Madonna-like presence on records and in films, she never took off in America until her 2002 album FEVER finally made her a US dance-pop diva. In Spring 2005, whilst touring her Greatest Hits, Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer. After successfully battling the disease the world tour resumed 18 months later in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia to a rapturous reception.

Swedish pop diva Robyn began writing songs when she was 11, and was still at school when she launched a music career. Robyn enjoyed instant success with the melodic urban pop track "Do You Really Want Me". Her debut album was re-released in America in 1997, and generated two Top 10 pop hits with "Do You Know (What It Takes)" and "Show Me Love". After refusing to have her follow-up effort, "My Truth", re-recorded for the U.S., Robyn retreated to her native Stockholm to regroup. After almost a decade away, an eternity in pop music, Robyn re-appeared, rejuvenated with a set of thrilling electro-pop tunes. The first fruits of her new direction, 2006's "The Rakamonie EP", on her own Konichiwa label led to a licensing deal with V2 Records in the U.K. Her long-awaited third album, "Robyn", was finally released in April 2007.
