Hi all, Hope you had a restful, meaningful and enjoyable Xmas and New Year! No doubt like you, we are sailing into 2009 on a sea of iTunes gift cards, new sweaters, bottles of bubbly, and a solid determination to beat the winter blues... A kickin' start to the year, it has to be said. EMI, one of our old record labels, is releasing "The Hue And Cry Collection" on the 9th of February this year. It's a fascinating album and will hopefully fill up some gaps in your own collections. And just after that we start our second UK tour titled "Open Soul... Open Road”, in February and March. We're extremely excited to be covering cities and regions in this longer tour that we haven't hit in years - Durham, Birmingham, Dunfermline, and a trip over the water to Belfast and Dublin, as well as major big-city gigs like London (in a much bigger venue this time, the Empire in Shepherd's Bush), Glasgow (our favourite venue in the city, The ABC), and Edinburgh (please note venue change below) As before, we'll be setting up our digicams and recording every minute of the gigs - you'll see clips of those on the Hue And Cry Music Club throughout the rest of the year. And make sure you come to the??History City??section of the Music Club, and visit the??'Open Soul... Open Road' gig pages??there - we want some input on the songs you want to hear. Please be aware that due to recent fire damage, The Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh will be closed for the foreseeable future.?? However we are pleased to announce that Hue and Cry will still be playing in Edinburgh on Friday 20th February 2009 at the Edinburgh Picture House on Lothian Road instead.?? Please note, any tickets bought for the Liquid Rooms gig will still be valid for the Edinburgh Picture House.
 
We are pleased to announce that EMI will be releasing an album of Hue and Cry hits, rare mixes, extended versions, B sides and album tracks from their Virgin Records period 1987-1991.?? Many of the tracks have been digitally remastered for ‘The Collection’ which will be released on 9th February 2009. |
