Eighties pop star Boy George was jailed for 15 months yesterday for handcuffing a Norwegian male to his bed and inflicting "wholly gratuitous violence" after descending into a drug fuelled downward spiral.

The 47-year-old, who was tried and sentenced under his real name, George O'Dowd, stood emotionless in the dock between two guards wearing a black duffel coat and black hoody as the judge told him that he had no alternative but to impose an immediate prison sentence.

The court heard that the cocaine fuelled attack on Audun Carlsen was "premeditated and callous" and left his victim "traumatised".?? ??
