12 Feb 2009 - Hue & Cry Update

Hi all,

A good and busy February and March for us, firing on a number of well-oiled cylinders.

We're looking forward to appearing on mainstream telly in a few days time (Friday 13th) when we will be on the ITV show Loose Women, performing one of our classics, and having a friendly chat with those formidable ladies. (Hoping Jakki Brambles is on the show - we once did an acoustic gig for Jakki live on Radio One in the 90's)

We're also making ourselves fully available to you, and giving you stuff for nothing this month. The first bit is our live on-line chat at The Hue And Cry Music Club. Just log in at 7.30pm on Monday 16th Feb, come to the chat room, and help us with a burning issue: what should our setlist be for this tour? We have our ideas, and we bet you have yours. Let's share.

Also on the same day we'll be putting up a free music download of Fireball, and our stylish new video for the song for you to watch - featuring dancing girls, animation sequences, corporate skullduggery and the most-kick-ass power Glamazon you ever did see!

Finally, don't forget that The Hue And Cry Collection is out this week - with a fascinating mix of classic songs, rare b-sides and never-before-heard mixes. Looking forward to see you all out there on the Open Soul???Open Road tour - camphones at the ready!

best, pat and greg x ??

To celebrate this and the launch of the Open Soul...Open Road tour, Pat and Greg will be giving a live webchat to fans at the Hue and Cry Music Club on Monday 16th February from 7.30pm. This is your chance to speak to the guys direct and help them put together their setlist for the tour so make sure you log on, get involved and let them know what songs you want to hear. ??

Tickets are selling out fast for all dates on the Open Soul???Open Road tour, when the full band will undertake an eight date tour of the UK and Ireland. If you haven't got your tickets yet make sure you buy them now to avoid dissapointment.

Billie Ray Martin: The Crackdown Project feat. Märtini Brös??& Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire)
song: The Crackdown

Mal from Cabaret Voltaire is adding his vocals next week so the mix so far containes BRM's vocals only but is already creating a stir with Dj's like Radio 1's Olaf Zimmermann declaring himself a fan and getting ready for the first spins on his show. The combination of BRM and the original artist of 'The Crackdown' is raising more than a few happy eyebrows. The track was produced by BRM's favourites: Märtini Brös, and is a dark and kicking tech-house fest. The tack will be remixed by Stephen Mallinder and his partner's new project: The Light Project.

A release is planned for the next two months and is part of a wider project called: The Crackdown Project. The next cover version from Cabaret Voltaire's classic album 'The Crackdown' will be 'Just Fascination' feat. Lusty Zanzibar.
