22 May 2009 - News From Saint Etienne

Thanks for helping to make the Foxbase Alpha shows such a success! They all sold out, as did pretty much every piece of merchandise. Incredible. And on the Saturday, in London, people danced to the sounds of Numero Uno, Grand Piano, Boca Juniors etcet til the mornin' light. Quite a sight.

So we thought we'd add a couple more Foxbase Alpha shows for

A) people who couldn't get in
B) gluttons for punishment

They'll be:

15th October: Manchester Ritz
16th October: London Shepherds Bush Empire

Two of our favourite venues.

In the meantime, deluxe editions of Foxbase Alpha and Continental came out this week, and So Tough and??Sound Of Water??will follow in July. Tiger Bay and Finisterre in the Autumn. Good Humour and Tales from Turnpike House will be released in early 2010, along with all of the remixes on Casino Classics.

The Innocents, originally released on 18th??April 1988, was the first Erasure album to hit the UK #1 spot (first on 30th??April 1988 and again in January 1989), a chart-topping position they revisted with each of their next four album releases.

Featuring the singles A Little Respect, Ship Of Fools and Chains Of Love, The Innocents was Erasure’s third studio album release, following Wonderland and The Circus, and the album that secured their position as one of Britain’s most beloved and enduring songwriting duos.

In over two decades together, Andy Bell and Vince Clarke (a founding member of Depeche Mode and Yazoo) have sold more than 20 million albums around the globe, proving themselves masters of every kind of song from disco symphonies to unplugged ballads.
