25 Jun 2009 - Hue & Cry News

Hi all,

Summer's here and the time is right for chasin' down the beats... So it's great to be able to announce another fantastic piano-vocal gig at the Vogrie Festival in Midlothian, 9th August. Our last few (in Aberdeen and Ayr) have been pretty powerful occasions - see the Music Club for clips - and we're looking forward to playing our mix of Open Soul songs, 80's classics and great covers. Also, don't forget our special guest slot - this time as a full band - with the Human League in Thetford Forest, Suffolk, on July 9th. We'd like to say that we're growing our Phil Oakey side fringes in solidarity... but you know that'd just be a lie...

There's something we'd like to ask you, though. By the end of 2009, we'll have had a pretty jam-packed and successful 18 months of our return to the pop mainstream - two major UK tours, three singles from one great album. And most importantly, thousands of encounters with all of you, either face to face or on the Music Club. We'd like to celebrate all this with you in some way... So we're wondering - if we were going to do something really SPECIAL for you, what would YOU like it to be? Completely open question - all suggestions welcome, so send us a message on the Music Club and let us know what you’d love. Then we'll mull it all over, and see what we can deliver before the end of the year....

Ok, hope you're going to get some sand between your toes over the next few months. Between gigs and writing and website chats... we certainly intend to!

best,

Pat and Greg x ??

We are pleased to announce that Hue and Cry will headline the Vogrie Festival which takes place in Vogrie Country Park, Midlothian on Sunday 9 August 2009. The line-up includes a number of rock, pipe, and silver bands as well as the traditional music and dance. Taking place between 11am and 6pm, the festival is one for all the family with live entertainment plus a fun fair, arts and crafts activities, displays, stalls and miniature railway. All ticket information can be found on the Hue and Cry website.

After the recent success of their two intimate piano-vocal performances at the Burns Festival in Ayr and Lemon Tree in Aberdeen, Hue and Cry are now looking forward to raising the tempo with a full band set up at their forthcoming appearance as special guests of The Human League. Taking place at Thetford Forest in Suffolk on 9th July 2009, tickets are on sale and available to buy from the Forestry Commission Box Office (tel: 01842 814612) or online now.
