07 Apr 2012 - Dr Robert - 2 New Albums

Flutes and Bones is coming...

Flutes and Bones

The long wait for “Flutes and Bones” by Dr Robert is finally over!

Originally conceived when Dr Robert moved to Spain a few years back the album has been talked about in hushed tones and cloaked in Masonic like secrecy ever since...

“ The title comes from a poem by Spanish poet laureate Federico Garcia Lorca about the death of a bullfighter..the whole album was inspired by my reaction to moving to a remote mountain village just south of Granada. Unfortunately other things took over..the album I did with PP Arnold and then getting The Blow Monkeys back together and doing two albums and lots of touring...Flutes just went on a backburner”

??Coldheart

Not any more! You can
download the fabulous atmospheric “Coldheart” here for free! And the whole album will be available from April 23..... click here to pre order!

Acoustic Blow Monkeys

Additionally Dr Robert is making available for the very first time the full
“Acoustic Blow Monkeys” album!! Also released on April 23 and
available for pre order here .

Finally Dr Robert would like to thank all those who sent their best wishes to him during his recent brush with mortality... He sends his sincere thanks... Says he is very much on the mend... And can't wait to get out there gigging later in the year.

Soulsavers ft. Dave Gahan - The Light The Dead See (CD)

Soulsavers
, the music and production team of Rich Machin and Ian Glover, have released three LPs since 2003 with a variety of guest vocalists - most notably Mark Lanegan, known for a long solo career as well as work with Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age and the Gutter Twins. But 'The Light the Dead See', due May 21st, will have a new voice - Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan.

??

"Soulsavers opened for Depeche Mode for a big part of the European tour for the last record we did, and I had been a fan for years," says Dave Gahan. "We just talked about it and we started to write songs. There was no agenda, really. That's what was really special about it, there was no one breathing down our backs."
