The song will eventually get a digital release with New Retro Wave records, but currently the only way to own it, is by picking up the deluxe vinyl edition of Ollie Wride's debut album, Thanks In Advance - which includes Stranger Love, as well as a funky Sunglasses Kid remix of Overcome.

Everything But The Girl's ninth and final studio album Temperamental was first released in September 1999, and is reissued on May 8 2020 on double vinyl complete with half-speed mastering by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

The album debuted at #16 on the UK Album Chart and peaked at #3 in Australia and #65 on the US Billboard 200, and went on to sell over 500,000 copies worldwide. Often seen as a companion piece to its million-selling predecessor Walking Wounded, it once again skilfully merged worlds contemporary electronic dance music and smart singer-songwriting.

While not embraced by a rock press tiring of electronica, Temperamental album was acclaimed in many quarters on its release. "Triumphant after-hours club pop" said Spin in an effusive full-page 9/10 lead review. "Entirely natural, wholly wonderful" said the Sunday Times. "The definitive dance album steeped in all things pop. Sublime and essential" commented Billboard, while Time Out offered, "If Everything But The Girl discovered nightlife late, it is one of their greatest strengths. Wide-eyed and wondrous."

Offering a longer view in 2019 - in a lengthy 20th year anniversary retrospective feature in The Quietus - Michael White said, "After 20 years it has aged very well ... I've explored the length and breadth of dance music as if it were my job, and I can't point to another album of its kind that so effectively bridges the divide between the deeply communal sound of the dance floor and the deeply private vocabulary of a mind in trouble."

Temperamental is re-issued on 180gm double vinyl with half-speed mastering on Buzzin’ Fly Records/Chrysalis Recordings on May 8 2020.

05 Mar 2020 - WYVE - Fictiopolis

WYVE is Paris-based trio consisting of vocalist Maxime Toussaint, guitarist Michaël Dietrich and drummer Thomas Negroni

Their first album, Birth, was conceptualised while the band was a duo and showed them in a much darker light. Shortly after their debut, Thomas Negroni joined the band and conjunctively decided to reshape the entire project. After nearly 70 songs, a tonne of plugins and a couple of classic keys (Moog 37, Prophet 6) they felt their love for retro, 80's aesthetic was complete and they filed them under the concept Fictiopolis. The album was tracked at the famous "La Frette Studio", a small mansion north of Paris, that welcomed the Arctic Monkeys for their latest album, among many others.

The trio's sound draws inspiration from 80's pop culture, movies and general aesthetic without losing sight of the modern rhythmic patterns and current electronic arrangements. They name as inspiration music as diverse as Imagine Dragons, M38 and their fellow country men, Daft Punk while also taking cues from the indie pop, and Synth/Retrowave worlds.

After a couple of singles they are ready to share their second album with the world and have chosen Aztec as their music team.
