ERASURE TO PLAY SWEDEN'S HULTSFRED FESTIVAL ON JULY 15TH
This is a bit of exclusive news for you because it hasn't been announced anywhere else yet, but Erasure will be playing at Sweden's Hultsfred Festival on July 15th! The festival will be announcing Erasure's involvement tomorrow, and tickets will be available from March 2nd. With the first Dublin show on June 13th almost sold out Erasure yesterday added a second Dublin show to their run of 'Total Pop!' dates in the summer. The band will play the show on June 14th and tickets are available now, see the live page on the website for more details and the ticket link! SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR TO SUPPORT ERASURE ON 'TOTAL POP!' FOREST SHOWS
I am very happy to announce that Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be the special guest at six of the Forest dates of Erasure's 'Total Pop!' tour and will be performing at all the Forest shows around England except Delamere Forest on July 1st. Just a reminder for you all that next week Andy be one of Claudia Brücken special guests at her 'Combined' show at London's Kings Cross Scala next Tuesday evening (March 2nd). Other guests will include Heaven 17's Glenn Gregory and Martyn Ware, OMD's Paul Humphreys, Propaganda's Susanne Freytag and Andrew Poppy. More details in the news section of Andy's website. Andy will also be hosting a very special clubnight in London next Friday (March 4th). The event, 'Andy Bell presents A Quiet Life', will take place at The Hoxton Pony in Old Street and promises an evening of electro, pop and eighties sounds. In addition to a special DJ set from Andy, he will also be doing a short live PA at the event. The bill will also include sets from Mark Moore, Lady P, Midnite Socialite, Push Music and more. The PopBytes website made DJ Tripp's mash-up of Erasure with Ke$ha, 'We R L'Amour', their 'Mashup of The Week' a couple of weeks ago. I think it's pretty good, but don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself over at their website! VINCE CLARKE'S FOOTBALL ANTHEM
It seems that Scottish football club Celtic have adopted the Depeche Mode track 'Just Can't Get Enough' (written by Vince Clarke) as their terrace anthem, here's a clip of the crowd at last weekend's match with Rangers singing the song before the game begins. In a further bizarre twist to the story apparently Rangers fans are rumoured to be responding with a terrace version of 'A Little Respect'!
