MORRISSEY has announced more UK dates following the six-night London residency that was announced last week. The singer will also play shows in Doncaster, Sunderland and Edinburgh. See GIGS for all the dates. Morrissey has also signed a new record deal this week with Decca/Polydor and an announcement about his new album is expected soon.
ANNIE LENNOX is to release a special digital bundle of mixes of her track 'Sing' - featuring 23 well known famous singers including MADONNA, Pink, Celine Dion and Dido - on World AIDS day, December 1st, in support of Nelson Mandela's charity Treatment Action Campaign. DURAN DURAN will see a trio of their classic albums - 'Duran Duran', 'Rio' and 'Seven & The Ragged Tiger' - issued as a limited edition, numbered boxset in February next year.
SPARKS have confirmed that they will play an epic twenty nights at London's Islington Academy in May and June where they will perform each of their catalogue albums in its entirety, culminating in a special show at London's Shepherds Bush Empire where they will perform their forthcoming and currently untitled 21st album. JANET JACKSON will release her new album in February and is expected to announce the first dates of a world tour shortly.
KIM WILDE, NIK KERSHAW, KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS, HOWARD JONES, PAUL YOUNG, HEAVEN 17, CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT, ALTERED IMAGES, THE REAL THING, CHINA CRISIS and DR & THE MEDICS will all play at HERE AND NOW's first Summer 2008 show which will take place at Norfolk's Blickling Hall on July 19th next year.
LOVE AND ROCKETS will headline a LA event which is being staged in honour of JOE STRUMMER. The show will take place at LA's Key Club on December 22nd and proceeds will go to Strummerville, a charity for musicians founded in his name.
SHALAMAR, DENIECE WILLIAMS, PATRICE RUSHEN and THE WEATHER GIRLS are all set to join David Gest on a twenty-four city UK concert tour under the title 'David Gest Is Nuts - My Life As A Musical' which starts in London in February.
