KYLIE MINOGUE is to be the first female recipient of a Music Industry Trusts' Award in acknowledgement of her career to date as well as her comeback following her recent battle with breast cancer. The award will be presented on October 29th.
THE HUMAN LEAGUE have announced the first of a series of special concerts to celebrate their epic 'Dare' album, during which the band will perform the entire album. The first show to be announced will take place at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire in December, see GIGS for the details.

DURAN DURAN, A-HA, REM, THE CURE and U2 are among the artists who have covered John Lennon songs in support of Amnesty International's 'Make Some Noise - Save Dafur' project which has attracted thirty-eight Lennon covers from a wide range of artists. The songs are all available for download from this week and a double CD compilation featuring twenty-eight of the songs will be released towards the end of this month.
